He shows trott with nice movements and loves to show off. We have seen him take tölt too. He is trained according to his age, has been handled inside, no problem to put him in a trailer, clip his hooves or shoe him. His basic training with the rider went very well, he is easygoing and positive with all the new stuff he had to learn. Easygoing on trailrides alone and in a group. Nökkvi is very nosy and interested in people. He is not afraid of new things, he rather goes and has a closer look. Aldís, Þeysir's mother, is a daughter of the honoraryprizestallion Adam frá Ásmundarstöðum. Þeysir is fivegaited, showing all gaits with clear beat in the field. He is very elastic, sometimes showing promising flying pace on rough ground. His tölt is always clear, no piggy pace, trott with long strides. It is easy for him to switch from one gait to another. Þeysir is very interested in people, which makes it a bit difficult to take good pics of him. He's not afraid of new things, just open and nosy. There are a lot of pics in the albums, just have a look. As both parents are dun, there is a 25% possibility he's homozygotous for the dun gene. He could also be a silverdapple and brown carrier, but not promise about that, first have to DNA check it. It looks like he inherited the gorgeous mane and tail of his mum. We think he is a promising young stallion, with a lot of fantastic horses in his pedigree (Þeyr, Stáli, Galsi, Ófeigur, Adam, Stígur, Náttfari, Sörli, Feykir, ...). This and the fact he is not related to all the Orrioffspring makes him very interesting for the ambitous breeder, who wants an alternative and keep the variousity in the Icelandic horse. Þeysir was sold to the Netherlands and will grow up in a stalliongroup in a big grazing area. She reached 3rd place in the youth class in Einarsstaðir with an overall mark of 8,17. She was judged and got an overall mark of 7,97 (Conformation 7,65; Ridden abilities 8,18).
