Guess what!

We are just having snowstorm number 3 in 3 weeks... During last week the snow was melting quite much and we had big hopes for it disappearing completely and not having to start feeding our outsidehorses. Well, it didn't work out like we wished and the weather turned again stormy and snowy... I've never seen our paddock packed with that amount of snow before, the fence around it (approximately 2m high) is hardly visible in some parts and we were forced to put extra strings on top, so the horses wouldn't just walk over the fence. Today we started to feed the outsidehorses, about 2 months before we usually have to do that. The ground is covered with snow and ice and they don't reach the grass below anymore, eventhough they are digging for it. Think they were quite happy to see us with the hay today. While they were waiting for us to dig our way through to the roundbale, they played a bit with the big haynet, which is put over the bale to keep the horses from dragging too much hay out. Good to see that they are interested in things they don't know!
The foalmares and foals were too rather happy to see us bringing more food. Hope the storm won't blow away too much...
I took some pics today, just have a look at the album!

Our horses digging for grass yesterday.

Hm, it's green, smells like hay... must be something to eat!
